Cathy Tyree

Cathy Jo Sumrell Tyree went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14th, 2025.

The youngest of four daughters, Cathy was born on June 17th 1956 to Guy and Mabel Sumrell in Suffolk, VA.
She was a graduate of Southampton High School in Courtland, VA. A Graduate of The Realtors Institute of VA and TCAT of Livingston school of Practical Nursing.

Cathy is survived by her daughter Sandy Tyree Beaty, husband Michael of Jamestown. Grandsons Brycen and Brayden Beaty.
Sisters Betty Jean Edwards of Pendleton, NC. Brenda Barnes and husband Wayne of Franklin, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

In addition to her parents Cathy was preceded in death by husband, Duane Tyree, grandson, Blake Michael Beaty, and sister, Patricia Bulls

Funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown. Burial will follow in the Allardt Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until time of the service at 1 PM.
