Passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home

Darrel was born again at the age of 18. He was a faithful member of Fellowship United Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon for many years

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Fellowship United Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M at Fellowship United Baptist Church

He is survived by:

Wife of 60 years: Charlotte Tompkins

Son: Russell Tompkins and wife Crystal

Daughter: Lorna Kaye Hamby and husband Steve

Sister: Judy Garrett

Grandchildren: Ethan Tompkins, Evan Tompkins, Kaitlyn Hamby and fiancé Brandon Eck, & Jonathan Hamby

Sisters-in-law: Gail Horner, Shelia Crouch, and JoanTompkins

Brother-in-law: Roger Tompkins and wife Teresa

He was preceded in death by:

Parents: Leland and Edna Goad Tompkins

Father-in-law & Mother-in-law: Willis and Ola Tompkins
