David was one of the Greatest Men I’ve ever known. One felt rich for having just known him. I feel blessed in that God made use family. He is the reason I love motorcycles, houseboats, jeeps and fine wines and duets. He set a great example for his son , nephews, nieces and grand children and friends and family. David led the pack by showing then explaining if needed. Always with a smile and making it look so easy. In my life of knowing him and being family to him David bestowed many great things to my life, Trip up town to buy my first pair of Harley Davidson Boots, My first Stetson Hat was cool and helped my mom buy my first guitar. But the Greatest gift he gave me was the love and wisdom in his advice. Just before Thanksgiving we were talking on messenger, he asked how I was doing. It wasn’t just polite conversation, he really wanted to know because he really cared. It was his way. I said well not great , I think I made a mistake that could cost me what I truly want. I tried to make lite of it by saying , “ but what are you to do but live with it.” He told me he didn’t believe that. I said but I did something for the right reason at the time but it made it all go so wrong. I don’t think it can be fixed. He said sure it can, you believe in God. I said yes. He said , Alesa forgive yourself and try it again , focus on the prize and do it again and remember if you believe in it , you can be just as successful the second time as it would have been the first time you tried. God will see to it. His advice I will treasure for the rest of my life and though I have not done it yet , I know I will. Because he left for me to see the most beautiful proof. I will miss my friend but his lesson will live forever. He truly was one of the greatest men I have ever known. My love and prayers to his family ; Judy, Adam, Tori , Katherine, Heighlee, Maddie and Chloe -his sister and brothers and nephews and nieces My Mother (his friend and family member of 50 years)& Step Dad and all of his friends who loves him like we do. May your memories out weigh your sorrow.
With my sincerest respect and love ,
Alesa Broyles Adams

David was  our double first cousin. My brother Tom and I grew up with David. and  played down under the mountain, at Grandmas with him every year when we were kids, I will always remember David's smile.  I will see him in paradise.      Lucy Kay Layton
