Janice Faye (Copley) Smith, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2022.
Born in Stockton, Tennessee, Janice was the daughter of the late Tracy and Thelma (Tinch) Copley. Janice was a seamstress her entire life, serving also as the wife of Rev. E. Eugene Smith who help found Fort Wayne United Baptist Church. Janice remained a faithful member of the church until her passing. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandmother to her family. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, crochet, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Sandra "Sandy" (Randy) Bush, Sheilah (Jay) Linnemeier; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Amanda (Pat) Sullivan, Amelia (Erich) Smith, Jillian (Logan) High, Landen, Luke; great-grandchildren, Gage, Demi, Isaac, Alec, Madeline, Kilah, Ethan, Sawyer, Solomon; great-great-grandson, Everett.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. E. Eugene Smith in 2015; son, Larry Eugene Smith; granddaughter, Lydia Linnemeier; brothers, Byron and Paul Copley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2 P.M. at the Mt. Helen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mt. Helen Cemetery Fund.
