Jerry W. Roberts Sr.

Mr. Jerry Wanye Roberts, 74, of Newnan, GA, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at home. He was born December 29, 1949, in Grimsley, TN to Clyde and Dorsie Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, granddaughter Riley Speed, and Mother-in-law Mary E Mathis.

Jerry grew up in TN and then moved to the Atlanta area in the late 70's. Mr. Roberts was a contractor in the residential and commercial construction drywall industry. He was known for his attention to detail, high-end quality, respected approach with contractors and supply houses. Jerry had many hobbies which included his love for NASCAR, a continual spirit of bluegrass guitar playing, motorcycles, and a devotion and respect for his family and wife of 38 years. Jerry Roberts was a common-sense, easy person to talk to and his impact on the family and friends will always be remembered.

Survivors include wife, Marilyn Roberts, four sons, Jonathan Speed (Lisa), Chris Speed (Amber), Nick "Farley" Speed (Heather), and Jerry "JR" Roberts (Jolene), along with 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 4 2024, at 6:00 P.M., at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA.  Family will receive visitors at McKoon Funeral Home from 4 P.M. until time of the service at 6 P.M.

Mr. Roberts will then be transported to Mundy Funeral Home South Chapel in Clarkrange, TN, where a funerasl service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1 P.M, and the family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of the service at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Spring Chapel Cemetery

The Roberts family request that in lieu of flowers any memorials be made to Victory Junction, 4500 Adam Way, Randleman, North Carolina 27317
