Jim Blain “Bob” Reagan of Allardt TN passed away peacefully on November 28 th at his home. Hewas born July 11, 1939, and was the youngest of seven children to Travis and Mertie (Delk). Growing up he enjoyed basketball on the dirt court at Allardt Elementary School, attending Allardt Presbyterian Church, being a part of the Boy Scouts, and playing his trombone in the York Band. In his adult years, he continued to be involved with the church, sharing his love of basketball and the band with his daughters, exploring the beautiful woods, caves and rivers in the area, always ready with a joke, tall tale or one liner, and served on several boards and committees that helped give back the community he loved. After his retirement he volunteered for the Fentress County Food Bank and the Allardt Cemetery.
After graduating from York Institute in 1959, Jim moved to Dayton, OH. He began his career as a lineman for Dayton Power and Light while also serving in the Army Reserves. During his time in Dayton, he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy (Davis) Reagan, and welcomed two daughters. Jim returned to Allardt in 1968 and started his career with VEC. Soon after he returned to Allardt he and Dorothy completed their family with another daughter.
He and Dorothy had many adventures with family and friends. This included any opportunity to spend time with the Reagan and Davis families, playing Tuesday night poker, traveling for any event involving his daughters and grandchildren, enjoying and cheering on any team his son-in-law was coaching, golfing with friends, and never missing an opportunity to find a casino along the way. A family favorite were the yearly Florida trips taken with friends which eventually lead to the Friday Night Supper Club.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 1, at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown, from 4:30 PM – 6:30 P.M. with Funeral Service to begin at 6:30. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 9:30 A.M. at the Allardt Cemetery. Funeral procession will leave from Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown at 9 A.M. sharp.
