John E. (JL) Goodman, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was born February 3, 1947, in Frost Bottom, TN to Roy Goodman and Audrey Faye Hensley Goodman. He was a U.S. Army veteran who honorably served from 1966 to 1969. JL owned and operated Knoxville Instrument Company for 28 years before retiring in 2021. He was a kind and genuine man, who was well respected by those who got the opportunity to know him. A loving father and grandfather, he leaves behind two sons and three granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by many friends, family members and colleagues.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon Goodman and wife Leslie; Byron Goodman and wife Brandi. Grandchildren: McKenzie, Lauren, and Audrey Goodman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Audrey Faye Goodman; and his brother, Richard “Ricky” Goodman. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
