Passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Fentress County

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 1 P.M. at the Mt. Helen Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Helen Cemetery. Military service will be provided at grave side by American Legion Post 137

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 12 Noon – 1 P.M. at Mt. Helen Baptist Church

He is survived by:

Son: Ritchie Tompkins and wife Wendy

Daughter: Lavonna Smith and husband Daniel

Grandchildren: Jordan Smith and wife Leann, Nicole Tompkins Davis and husband Tim, & Meredith Smith Nee and husband Steve

Great-Grandchildren: Sophia Houston, Henry, and Roslin Smith, Colson and Callie Davis, & Atlas and Elowyn Nee

He was preceded in death by:

Wife: Veta Tompkins 

Parents: John Cal and Florence Peters Tompkins

Great-Grandchild: Coley Davis

Brothers: Virgil, Lawrence, Clarence, Willis, Everett, & Corwin Tompkins

Sisters: Danzie Voiles, Donnie Tompkins, and Wilda Bridges
