Ms. Retta Faye Richards Dalton, age 71, of Jamestown, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
She was born on August 10, 1954, in Grimsley, Tennessee, to the late Lela Beatrice Richards and Floyd Conrad Richards. Retta was known for her strong faith, generous spirit, and deep devotion to her family. She especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed birdwatching.
Retta is survived by her daughter, Shawnda Cooper, and husband Larry of Allardt, Tennessee; her son, Steven Jones of Grimsley, Tennessee; her granddaughter, Marleigh Cooper of Allardt, Tennessee; and her grandsons, Duncan Jones and wife Michelle of San Antonio, Texas, and Hunter Jones of Cibolo, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Dale Richards and wife Marttie of Whitwell, Tennessee, her sister, Lucy Morris of Ringold, Georgia, Uncle Alton Richards of Kingston, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, William, Jimbo, David, Royal, and Kenny Richards, and by her sister, Rhonda Wright.
Retta worked as a CNA and caretaker for more than 40 years, serving others with compassion and dedication. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose impact touched many lives.
Funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 20, at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown, with burial to follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 19, from 5 PM until 8 PM at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fentress Hope Foundation in Jamestown, Tennessee.
