Thomas Loyd Pickard, age 82 of Spruce Creek Acres, Jamestown, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Signature Healthcare of Fentress County. He was born March 15, 1943 in Manhattan, Kansas to J. Ronald Pickard and Alice Ewing Pickard. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1966 and was commissioned into the United States Navy in 1967. He married Joyce Holke in 1976 and retired from the John Deere Cylinder Division, Moline, Illinois in 1999
Tom was an avid horseback rider and had won many endurance racing championships while living in Illinois. After moving to Tennessee in 1999 he became actively involved in the community and served as Unit 11 Fire Captain. He also assisted with the York Institute JROTC air rifle program and was a Boy Scout Leader working with the Venture Program at the York Armory.
He is survived by:

Sisters: Ann Moser and husband Chuck, of Mooresville, Indiana
Margaret Rauschenberger and husband Bob, of Homer, Illinois
Sister-in-law Jeane Holke Downing, of Cambridge, Ilinois
Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by:

Brother-in-law: Dennis Downing
